I based this piece on two creatures very dear to my heart. One being, my dear friend Michael Harrison, who is a superb fiddle player and the other a cat named Gizzard that was purring through my life at one time Violinus Felinus is pen & ink, water colour. It measures 24” x 36” and is currently being sold as a limited edition gi`clee . Two years ago Violinus Felinus was a featured painting in an exhibition at the Long Beach World Trade Center and garnered great attention.
Violinus Felinus plays his violin with passion and zeal. He plays it for all creation from the depths of his heart and soul. He is grateful beyond measure that he can do this and share in the dance of life.
And when he plays with the greatest feeling and movement a dancing cat will join him. Who is this dancing cat? Where does he come from? No one knows. We only know that this feline is enraptured with the music of Violinus and moves exquisitely in a dance that is ecstatic!! These two make a marvelous and beautiful display of sight and sound.
Please do not leave money in the violin case of Violinus. Just leave your heart and gratitude, being thankful that something so wonderful, can be.
